The Source Climbing Center

Vancouver, WA

Longtime climbing partners Hanz Kroesen and Michael Lary had a common goal of opening a climbing gym in Vancouver, WA that would cater to and build upon their strong climbing community.

The Source Climbing Center, which opened on 11/11/11, is now the premier indoor climbing facility in the Vancouver area. The gym boasts 25 top rope anchors on walls up to 36’ tall and 2,300 square feet of lead climbing terrain with up to 40 lead routes, for a total of 3,900 square feet of terrain. In addition, The Source features 1,200 square feet of bouldering terrain with open 20 degree faces and multi-faceted 45 degree overhangs in the advanced area. The 800 square foot Kids mezzanine also features a 20 foot tall instructional wall for classes and private events.

Product Used: High Performance
Known as the “routesetter’s canvas,” our seamless High Performance climbing wall system is the product of choice for state-of-the-art climbing gyms.

Experienced climbing wall operators know the key to keeping their climbers enthusiastic is creative and ever-changing routes. High Performance walls are thoughtfully designed to highlight this aspect of operations. They provide a beautiful and functional “blank canvas” that can accommodate features like arches, overhangs, cracks and pinnacles or simply sweeping expanses that showcase your routes.

High Performance climbing wall systems are made of a thick, cementitious texture applied over sheets of interlocking OSB, a proven method of climbing wall construction. Supported by a steel framing system, the walls are extremely durable and can withstand a high volume of use. A t-nut density of at least 2 per sq ft and planar surfaces allow you to place more and bigger holds, allowing for the ultimate flexibility in routesetting.
