Construction Foreman

Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience as a construction superintendent or foreman
- 4+ years of professional hands-on construction skills
- Ownership of basic tool belt-type personal tools
- Steel erection/welding experience and/or shotcrete experience
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a team
- Commercial job site experience and knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- An eye for craftsmanship with an ability to provide feedback to craftsmen
- Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage daily reports, schedules, expense tracking and payroll reporting
- Ability and desire to lead a traveling and working lifestyle with varying work schedules including weekends
- Ability to lift 80 lbs and work on your feet for 10-12 hours per day
- Valid Driver’s license
Key Responsibilities:
Master the specialty skills and processes used and be able to train others in:
- Welding using the SMAW (stick welding) process
- Steel erection
- Wood sheathing and finish carpentry
- Application of top coatings including rock realistic painting
- Shotcrete application and rock carving (preferred)
- Various assembly and general construction skills
- Operation of jobsite equipment including forklift, scissor lift, boom lift
Project Planning
- Forward thinking experienced construction professional dedicated to planning ahead, anticipating construction conflicts and resolving issues before they become critical.
- Review plans, design and key contract terms with Project Manager
- Review sequence of construction, special details, special material or finishes and terminations to adjacent work or structures
- Work with Project Manager to create, maintain and adhere to project schedule
- Develop or review job packing list with Shop Manager and Project Manager to ensure all necessary materials and tools are delivered to the job site
- Participate in communication with client or general contractor to review schedule, safety planning, and job requirements
Project Installation
- Coordinate and manage schedule with Project Manager to meet budget and timeline.
- Maintain daily communication with Project Manager on project status, including submitting daily reports and pictures
- Manage rental equipment to meet budget
- Manage materials and deliveries to meet project schedule
- Create and maintain a safe working environment for all employees
Team Management
- Conduct daily kickoff meetings and weekly safety meeting
- Direct all crew activities, providing onsite training as needed
- Assist in the evaluation and development of crew members
Client and Job Site Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact with client while onsite. Manage client expectations and requests and communicate with the Project Manager
- Manage the crew’s interaction and coordination with other trades
Process Improvement
- Provide recommendations to improve installation process
- Participate in project debriefs with Project Management. Share knowledge gained from each project to be applied to future installations
Perform other duties as assigned Compensation: Up to $80,000+
