Key Features

Why Choose a
RealRockTM Wall?

Eldorado is the world-leader in hand-sculpted concrete climbing stuctures - the best that money can buy. Our crews are made up of artisans who climb — people who understand both the visual language of natural rock and the movement vocabulary of a great climbing route.

Sculpt Anything Found in Nature

Roofs, aretes, arches, chimneys, dihedrals, cracks, pockets, or full freestanding boulders. RealRock™ mimics natural rock - full-form sculpted features that aren't possible with GFRC or wood panel-based systems.

Looks and Climbs Like Real Rock

RealRock™ surfaces are hand-painted by climbing artisans using palettes drawn from real geology. Utah sandstone with some desert varnish and lichen? - sure! Under your hands it climbs as the rock it's matched to.

Design Around Your Geology

Match the local rock — granite, sandstone, limestone, basalt, conglomerate — or build something inspired by a specific destination crag. The geology isn't picked from a swatch book. It's developed for the project.

Build a Permanent Concrete Asset

RealRock™ is concrete and shotcrete — not panels assembled on a frame. It's specified, engineered, and installed the way a landscape feature or architectural element is specified. A thirty-plus-year capital asset.

Climbing Without
a Belay Partner

TRUBLUE Auto Belays let climbers run laps without a partner — critical for facilities with limited staff and steady throughput.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between RealRock™ Walls and RealRock™ Boulders?
Walls are full-height climbing structures (typically 20 ft to 40+ ft) that require rope, belay, and trained staff or programming. Boulders are shorter freestanding features designed for safe drops onto padding or absorbent landscape materials — no rope or belay equipment required. Both use the same hand-sculpted RealRock™ surface and are built to the same engineering standard.
How much does a RealRock™ structure cost?
RealRock™ Walls and Boulders are priced per project based on size, sculpted complexity, finish, and site conditions. Walls typically start in the upper-five to six figures; Boulders range from around $20k to $75k depending on size and whether you choose Custom, Pre-Engineered, or Landmark Series. We provide detailed quotes after a consultation call.
How long does the process take?

Typical RealRock™ Wall timelines run 3–6 months from signed proposal to opening day. Pre-Engineered and Landmark Series Boulders ship faster since design and engineering has already been performed. Custom Boulders run 12–20 weeks depending on design complexity.

Can RealRock™ structures go outdoors?

Yes. Both Walls and Boulders are available in outdoor configurations using UV-stable color, freeze-thaw rated concrete, and climate-appropriate detailing. RealRock™ has been specified for parks, resort grounds, themed attractions, and public spaces across the country.

Can you match a specific rock type or local geology?
Yes. Our color and texture palette is built from real geology — granite, sandstone, basalt, limestone, and beyond. We routinely match local rock at the project site or interpret a specific destination crag if your design calls for one.
Can I add bolt-on holds and reset routes?
RealRock™ Walls can be specified with an integrated T-nut grid for hold placement — combining sculpted natural features with modern route-setting flexibility on the same wall. Many of our clients use both: the sculpted features as permanent terrain and bolt-on holds for variable route programming. RealRock™ Boulders typically don't need bolt-on holds — the sculpted features are the routes.
Do you handle engineering and permitting?
Structural engineering is completed in-house on every project. We deliver stamped drawings and coordinate with your architect, general contractor, or facilities team on the permitting process — though permits themselves are typically pulled by the GC on record.
What kind of maintenance does a RealRock™ structure need?
Routine maintenance is minimal — periodic inspections, hardware checks, and occasional touch-up on high-traffic features. Concrete sealant should be applied every 4-5 years - just like a concrete patio. RealRock™ structures are designed to stay in service for decades - a great investment.
