Q: What surface do I need to install on?

RealRock Boulders are typically installed on concrete footings or piers engineered for your site's soil conditions. Our team provides foundation specifications as part of the design process.

Q: How long does the process take?

Pre-Engineered and Landmark boulders ship from our facility and can typically be installed within a few weeks of ordering. Custom Boulders take 12–20 weeks from signed proposal to completed installation depending on design complexity.

Q: Can I add bolt-on holds?

Yes. All RealRock panels include a pre-installed T-nut grid so you can add, swap, and reset bolt-on climbing holds at any time — in addition to sculpted natural features.

What’s the difference between Custom, Pre-Engineered, and Landmark?

Custom Boulders are designed from scratch to your specifications — any shape, size, or rock type and are often built in the field.. Pre-Engineered Boulders use proven designs manufactured at our facility for faster delivery and lower cost. Landmark Series are hand-sculpted replicas of iconic natural formations like Delicate Arch and Devils Tower.

What surface do I need to install on?

RealRock Boulders are typically installed on concrete footers engineered for your site’s soil conditions. Our team provides foundation specifications as part of the design process.

How long does the process take?

Boulders can take from 8–16 weeks from signed proposal to completed installation depending on design/engineering, how many boulders are in the queue, and time of year. We fabricatge boulders from April through November - not in the winter.

Do you handle installation?

Yes. Professional installation by our trained crew is available for all boulder systems. For Pre-Engineered boulders, many clients handle installation with a small team and basic equipment.

Can I add bolt-on holds?

Yes. We provide boulders either with or without embedded knurled nuts to attach hand holds -your choice.

Where do you ship?

We ship RealRock boulders anywhere in the continental United States and to Canada and Mexico. Alaska would be a challenge but is possible.
