On Friday, April 28, employees from Eldorado Climbing teamed up with the Boulder Climbing Community (BCC) Trail Crew for a volunteer day of trail maintenance at The Dome in Boulder Canyon. The group spent the day installing gabions (wire baskets filled with rock), splitting and moving large rocks, and restoring the area to its original condition. The event was a great success and demonstrated the power of community collaboration in preserving and protecting our natural resources.
The day began early in the morning at The Dome Trailhead. It was a bit chilly and the area had received significant snowfall at higher elevations. Still, the team was energetic and eager to get started. While enjoying coffee and donuts, Ryan Keuhn, BCC Stewardship Director, discussed the goals for the day and reviewed safety protocols. The team then set out to work on the trails. It was a physically demanding day, but the team's dedication to preserving the beauty of the area made it all worthwhile.
The BCC Trail Crew is a full-time team of experienced trail building professionals who work tirelessly to maintain the trails in the area. Their work is essential to ensuring that the trails are safe and accessible for all visitors, while also protecting the natural resources of the area. If you're interested in getting involved with the Boulder Climbing Community, there are many ways to do so. The BCC Trail Crew is always looking for volunteers to help with trail maintenance and preservation. You can also attend community events, participate in clean-up efforts, and support local businesses that support the Boulder Climbing Community.
The volunteer day with the BCC Trail Crew was incredibly rewarding, and we're proud to have been a part of it. At Eldorado Climbing, we're committed to making a positive impact in our local community and preserving the natural beauty of the area. We encourage others to get involved with the Boulder Climbing Community and join us in our efforts to preserve and protect our natural playgrounds. Together, we can make a difference.
