The Land at Saraland has quickly become a magnetic hub for families, athletes, and adventure-seekers in southern Alabama. And now, thanks to a new Kinetix installation by Eldorado Climbing, its active entertainment offerings have leveled up in a big way.
Eldorado designed and constructed a 26-foot Kinetix Tower with some of the most popular and dynamic Challenges, including Disc Grips, Floating Volumes, Log Lasso, and Yo-Yo Barrel. Alongside the Kinetix Tower, The Land also added a Kinetix Wall, designed with its own mix of interchangeable Climbponents to keep visitors engaged and coming back for more.

When Eldorado’s design team began collaborating with The Land, one of the core objectives was to maximize impact within a constrained footprint, while still delivering an experience that felt modern, inviting, and full of variety.
“The Land was a unique opportunity to provide a modern and inviting climbing experience,” said Mark Hemphill, Director of Product at Eldorado Climbing. “Working with a relatively narrow space, we were able to place a Kinetix Standard Arch and a Kinetix Wall, while leaving space for circulation between the two. Structurally, the project interfaced with the existing building steel, within its original load capacity and without any onsite welding.”
Beyond structural ingenuity, Hemphill emphasized the heart of the design, accessibility and excitement for all ages. “More importantly though, these Challenges and Climbponents are designed to encourage any and all potential patrons to give climbing a try—from age five to eighty-five. Some are simple, static, and trivial to top. Others are deviously dynamic—spinning, swinging, and bucking all but the most cat-like climbers off.”
A Community Hit from Day One
Since the installation, The Land team has been thrilled with the response. “It’s been amazing! The community loves it. It’s always packed,” said Nicolas Santana, General Manager at The Land. Beyond visitor excitement, the ease of operation has also been a major plus for the staff. “It was super easy to train the staff how to operate the Kinetix Tower and Wall,” Santana shared. “And we love how we can change the challenges as much as we want to keep it fresh for our community.”

The combination of a modular Kinetix Tower and Kinetix Wall gives operators freedom to evolve the attraction over time, swapping out Challenges, testing new configurations, and keeping guests engaged season after season. This flexibility, paired with a structurally efficient and space-savvy design, has turned the installation into a model for future active entertainment builds.
